Before performing the pray Maghrib, the conditions that precede the prayer must be fulfilled, including ablution. The ablution must be correct and complete as the Messenger of Allah performed ablution,it was reported from the Messenger of Allah that he used to perform ablution as follows:

  • “He would wash his hands three times, the first thing he started and named Allah, then rinsed his mouth, inhaled and blew, then washed his face, then washed his arms with the elbows, then wiped his head with the ears, then washed his feet with the ankles.

All this washing is done three times, except for wiping the head once, and it was reported from the Messenger of Allah that he washed once, twice, and three times and the majority of washing is three times.

  • After completing ablution, the one who performs ablution says the supplication for voiding ablution, which is: “I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

The description of the correct prayer was transmitted from the Messenger of Allah when he said: “Pray as you have seen me praying.” As for the manner of the Maghrib prayer, which is three rak’ahs, after fulfilling the conditions before the prayer and facing the Qiblah, the Muslim must stand up for prayer.

  • As standing is one of the pillars of prayer for the one who is able to perform it, and the worshiper intends to perform al Maghrib prayer and sets it in his heart, without uttering it, for the intention is a pure heart action.

And the intention in prayer is a condition or pillar of disagreement among the people of knowledge, and he opens his prayer with the takbeer with the hands raised, and he reads the opening supplication, and he reads after Al-Fatihah, and then whatever he wants from the surahs of the Noble Qur’an.

  • Then he kneels with the saying: “Glory be to my Lord the Great” in his bowing three times, then he straightens his knees by saying: “Allah listens to those who praise Him.” Then he rises moderately and reassuringly with the words:

“Our Lord, to you be praised.” After that, the worshiper prostrates by saying

“Glory is to my Lord the Highest” three times, then rise from his prostration.

And he performs a second prostration as the first, then the worshiper stands up and performs the second rak’ah of the Maghrib prayer as he did the first, except that it is without the opening supplication, and he prostrates after the two rak’ahs for the first tashahhud.

when is maghrib prayer?

The scholars unanimously agreed that the Maghrib prayer time begins with sunset, and the Prophet – may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him – indicated that that time falls between sunset and the sunset of the red twilight that is on the west side.

Moreover, it is better for a Muslim to perform it at the beginning of its time; Because of the action of the Prophet – may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him-. If the muezzin had given the call to prayer, he would pray two units of prayer, then order to establish the prayer, and he would order his companions to perform two units of prayer before the obligatory prayer by saying.

It is desirable to hasten the Maghreb prayer at its first time, and this is evidenced by a hadith: “On the authority of Uqbah bin Amer that the Prophet {{peace be upon him}} said: “My nation will still be fine, or: on the basis of instinct, as long as they do not delay the sunset until the stars cross.” Narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawood.

And al-Hakim in al-Mustadrak, and according to Ibn Majah, al-Hakim, and Ibn Khuzaymah in his Sahih, with the wording: “My nation will continue to adhere to the fitrah as long as they do not delay sunset until the stars clash.”

how late can I pray maghrib?

The majority of jurists are of the opinion said that the last time for Maghrib prayer time is as long as twilight has not disappeared, and as for the Malikis in what is well known to them and the Shafi’is in the new school, that the Magrib prayer has one time.

Which is the amount that the worshiper gets up and purifies and covers his private parts and calls to prayer and establishes the name of the prayer, as the Shafi’is and Malikis went to the order that the al Maghrib prayer is the evening prayer.

It is makrooh, citing as evidence what was narrated on the authority of the Messenger of Allah – may Allah prayers and peace be upon him – that he said: “The Bedouins do not beat you to the name of your prayers Maghrib. at dinner

when is maghrib prayer time?

The first time Maghrib prayer time begins at sunset, for a hadith: “On the authority of Salama bin Al-Akwa’, that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to pray Maghrib when the sunset and it was veiled.” Narrated by the group except for women.

Al-Shawkani said: “The hadith indicates that the time for sunset begins at sunset, and it is agreed upon, and that hastening to pray at the beginning of its time is permissible.”

The scholars have agreed that the beginning of the time for Maghrib prayer is (sunset), and the dispute occurred about the sign by which sunset is known.

And it was said: By seeing the night planet, and with it Al-Qasimiyah said, and they argued by saying: “Until the witness appears”: (the star). Narrated by Muslim and Al-Nasa’i from the hadith of Abu Basra.

And it was said: Rather, by darkness, and to him went Zaid bin Ali, Abu Hanifa, Al-Shafi’i, Ahmed bin Isa, Abdullah bin Musa, and Imam Yahya. They cited a hadith: “If the night begins from here and the day passes from here.

Then the fasting person has broken his fast.” Agreed upon from the hadith of Ibn Umar and Abdullah Ibn Abi Awfa. And in the hadith of Jibril from the narration of Ibn Abbas the wording: “He prayed with me when the sun came out and the fasting person broke his fast.” And talk of the door and so on.

The Ashab al Bahr replied that this evidence is absolute, and the hadith “until the witness appears” is restricted, and it was stated that it is not absolute and restricted that the rising of the witness be one of the signs of sunset.

However, it has been said: His statement and the star witness are included. If this is true, it is not unlikely that what is meant by the witness is the darkness of the night, and this is supported by the hadith of Al-Sa’ib bin Yazid with Ahmed and Al-Tabarani with the wording: “My nation will remain on the instinct as long as they pray Maghrib before the rising of the star.”

And the hadith of Abu Ayyub, with a chain of transmission traceable back to the Prophet, said: “Hasten to pray Maghrib before the rising of the star.” And the hadith of Anas and Rafi’ bin Khadeej, who said: “We used to pray with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, then we would shoot and one of us would see the position of his arrow.”

The Maghrib prayer time begins when the sun sets, and extends to the setting of the red twilight, because of the hadith of Abdullah bin Amr that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “The time for Magrib prayer is when the sun sets, as long as the twilight has not fallen.”

And what Al-Bukhari narrated from the hadith of Salamah Ibn Al-Akwa: “On the authority of Salamah, he said, We used to pray with the Prophet, peace be upon him, Maghrib, if it was covered with the veil.”

It was also narrated on the authority of Abu Musa: that a beggar asked the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, during the times of prayer. He said: Then he delayed it until it was when the twilight fell.

Then he said: The time is between these two. Al-Nawawi said in Sharh Muslim: (The investigators from among our companions were more likely to say that it is permissible to delay it as long as the twilight has not disappeared and that it is permissible to start it at every time of that, and he is not sinning by delaying it beyond the beginning of the time).

how long after azan can you pray maghrib?

It is from the Sunnah to delay the prayer a little after the call to prayer, and not to rush after the call to prayer.

Because it may come early with the call to prayer, it may be called the call to prayer before the time. As a precaution, the prayer should be minutes after the call to prayers, such as a quarter of an hour, a third of an hour, or half an hour.

So it is better to come early, as the Prophet, peace, and blessings be upon him, used to pray it early. at the beginning of its time, or in the middle of its time, or at the end of its time, but it is better to be at the beginning of its time, that is the best.

how to pray asr and maghrib together?

The combination of prayers is to combine two prayers at one time, so it is by combining the noon prayer and the afternoon prayer at the time of one of them.

So he advances the afternoon prayer and praises it with the noon prayer at its time, and this is called the combination of advance, or delaying the noon and praying it with the afternoon prayer at its time.

And this is called the combination of delay, as well as the combination of the Maghrib prayer and the prayer Isha is at the time of one of them, so he advances the dinner and prays it with Maghrib at its time.

Moreover, this is called the plural of advance, or he delays the Maghrib and he prays it with the dinner at its time, and this is called the plural of delay. Nor between dawn and noon, nor between afternoon and sunset.

To summarise, the Maghrib prayer ( صلاه المغرب ) is obligatory for every Muslim, and the maghrib prayer rakat is three to be performed in the manner we mentioned above. The scholars differed about the exact time of the Maghreb prayer, and the majority of scholars do not allow combining the afternoon prayer with the Magrib prayer.
