On the authority of Omar bin Al-Khattab – may God be pleased with him – he said: “A man from among the Jews said to him: O Commander of the Faithful, there is a verse in your book that you read. If it had been revealed to us Jews, we would have taken that day as a holiday.” 

He said: Any verse He said: “Today I have completed it.” You have your religion, and I have completed My blessing upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.). Omar said: We knew that day and the place where it was revealed to the Prophet – may Allah bless him and grant him peace – and he was standing at Arafat on a Friday.
